About Liz
When Liz was in second grade, she was accused of being in her own little world. Much to her teacher’s chagrin, she took this as a compliment. Always fascinated with the human mind, Liz went from a career in New York Theater to one as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), and Drama Therapist in California. Of her 23 years of clinical experience, the last 17 have been exclusively with ND children, teens and young adults. Liz’s greatest joy has been co-creating and directing original theater performances as well as running improv groups with ND children, teens and young adults.
Liz has taught graduate school at CIIS and is a national speaker on her groundbreaking theater-based approach to working with neurodivergent students. She has a B.A. in Undergraduate Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (with honors) and a Master's in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Outside of mentoring, directing and training, Liz enjoys creative writing, singing Jazz, and doing spontaneous stand-up. She currently lives in Durham, North Carolina with her tuxedo cat Jeficita, who refuses to follow stage directions.
